NHS England’s 12-week consultation on proposals for the future location of very specialist cancer treatment services for children who live in south London and much of south east England has closed.

We are grateful for all the responses we received, many of which came from children and young people with experience of cancer or their families, and from staff who look after children and young people.

We would also like to thank everyone who promoted the consultation and encouraged people to get involved and have their say throughout the 12 weeks.

The decision on the future location of the children’s cancer centre will be taken by NHS England leaders for London and South East regions. They will consider both the feedback and additional evidence that came forward during the consultation, alongside all other relevant information.
The decision is currently expected to be taken in spring 2024.

There will be no sudden changes to how children and young people receive care. The proposed future Principal Treatment Centre would not be ready until at least 2026.

Future updates will be published on this website.
