St George’s welcomes appointment of new Chair
St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is delighted to welcome Sir David Henshaw to the post of Interim Chair of the trust. Sarah Wilton, Acting Chair, said of the appointment, “I’m pleased to announce the appointment of Sir David Henshaw as the trust’s new Interim Chairman to lead the board through the next stage of St George’s development and tackle the key operational and financial challenges”.
Sir David has had an extensive and very successful career in the public sector with particular emphasis on transforming organisational performance. His NHS experience includes being chair at Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust and Interim Chair at two NHS foundation trusts. He was also Chief Executive of Liverpool City Council for seven years and worked as an advisor to the Prime Minister’s Delivery Unit and the Cabinet Office.
Sir David said, “I am delighted to be appointed as the new Interim Chair at St George’s. I have already seen that good progress is being made although there is a lot more to do. I look forward to working with and meeting staff from across the trust and have already started this process”.
