Throughout September, staff, patients and the public can nominate their #TeamGeorges Heroes as part of a new awards initiative from St George’s Hospital Charity.

There are four categories to choose from, and the charity will be looking for nominations on social media. The four categories are:

  • Coronavirus Pandemic Hero – someone at the Trust who went above and beyond during the pandemic
  • Year of the Nurse and Midwife – nominate a nurse or midwife at the Trust
  • Community Champion – someone local who supported St George’s during the pandemic
  • Unsung Hero – someone who is working behind the scenes at the Trust and deserves the spotlight.

All you need to do to nominate a member of staff is write a post on social media explaining in a few words why they deserve to win. Then tag in the charity’s account on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.

A panel of judges from the charity will then decide on a winner. The winners will receive a voucher worth over £100 which can be used to book an experience day for two people, such as a hotel stay or helicopter ride.

Thanks to St George’s Hospital Charity for launching this wonderful initiative, and a huge thanks to Baljeet Nijhar who raised funds to purchase these vouchers for staff.
