St George’s CIO shortlisted in the national Women in Technology Excellence Awards
Our Chief information Officer (CIO), Elizabeth White has been shortlisted for the CIO of the Year Award in the Computing Magazine, Women in IT Excellence Awards.
The winners will be announced at a gala ceremony on November 27th 2019, at The Brewery in London. Elizabeth is the only CIO to be shortlisted from an NHS Trust.
The Women in Technology Excellence Awards, is now in its third year and have celebrated the achievements of over 500 women, in front of over 1,000 people. There are only 5% of leadership positions in the technology industry held by women, according to a 2017 PWC report on Women in Technology.
Tom Allen, editor at Incisive Media, said, “The Women in Technology Excellence Awards receive hundreds of entries every year, but only the best make it through to the shortlisting stage.”
He added: “Elizabeth’s dedication to both her work and her family; her approach to managing people; and her determination to support women in technology, while avoiding gender bias, make her an excellent candidate and we are pleased to have shortlisted for the CIO of the Year.”
These awards were created to celebrate and promote the fantastic female talent there is in the industry.
Elizabeth White, CIO at St George’s, commented on the shortlist.
She said: “I am delighted to be shortlisted for CIO of the Year Award; I hope these awards will encourage more women to enter and the world of technology.”
We wish Elizabeth every success!
