Outstanding care and empathy shown by staff are just some of the reasons kids cancer services should stay at St George’s, according to Paediatric Psychologist Dr Holly Tallentire.

Dr Tallentire, who is based on Pinckney Ward, says there is a “sense of safety” where she works that would be hard to replicate elsewhere.

“I see first-hand both the clinical expertise and compassion that staff from the oncology teams and across specialties provide to all families,” she said.

“It’s been built over the 25 years that the St George’s and Royal Marsden partnership has been in place.”

The future of children’s cancer services is changing as NHS England is reviewing where a Principal Treatment Centre for children’s cancer services should be located.

St George’s is one of two options – and you can have your say on why services should remain here.

We – and Dr Tallentire – think Kids Deserve St George’s. Find out more about the consultation and how else you can get involved here.
