St George’s, Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals and Health Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Elaine Clancy as interim Group Chief Nurse.

Elaine is currently the most senior nurse in south west London. A trained adult, paediatric and A&E nurse, Elaine has worked on the frontline in our Emergency Department at St George’s and was previously Head of Nursing for Medicine at the Trust.

Her more than 30 year career in the NHS has also seen her hold senior roles at the Trust and other hospitals and community providers in the capital, and most recently at South West London Integrated Care Board.

Elaine will be joining gesh on an interim secondment from 15 September, while permanent recruitment continues.

Elaine said: “I’m looking forward to working with both new and familiar faces. I know there’s real talent and commitment from nurses, midwives and Allied Health Professionals across gesh and I’ve been inspired by what I’ve seen as Chief Nurse for South West London – I’m excited about what we can achieve together for our patients, local communities and our professional groups.”

Jacqueline Totterdell, Group Chief Executive Officer, said: “I am delighted that Elaine will be returning to gesh to support us while we recruit a permanent Group Chief Nurse. I know she will keep patient care and support for healthcare professionals at the very top of our agenda.”
