London Underground strikes – information for patients
The Rail, Maritime and Transport union (RMT) has announced that planned industrial action will take place this month.
Transport for London (TfL) has confirmed that from Sunday 7 to Thursday 11 September 2025, tube services will be severely disrupted, with little to no service expected.
Other TfL services will be running normally but are likely to be extremely busy.
Visit the TfL website for more strike information
If the strikes go ahead, we recognise that some patients and visitors are likely to experience difficulty traveling to our hospital.
If you have an appointment, please attend the hospital as planned – there is no need to contact us. If the strikes do go ahead, and you think you will be unable to attend, please contact our teams using the number on your appointment letter. We will do our very best to help you.
We would urge all patients and visitors to our hospitals to plan your journey in advance, and to use alternative methods of transport. The roads may also be busier, so if you are planning to drive, please allow extra time for your journey. Please remember that parking at St George’s Hospital is limited due to the high demand from patients, visitors, staff, and the need for emergency vehicle access.
Thank you for your support and co-operation.
