From 6am on Thursday 22 January to 7:59am on Saturday 24 January, industrial action will take place for healthcare support workers across our group at Epsom, St Helier and St George’s Hospitals.

During this period we will continue to provide the full range of emergency, intensive and maternity care in our hospitals. This care will be provided by a range of medical, nursing and allied health professionals.

However, we may need to reschedule some outpatient appointments. We apologise for the inconvenience this will cause.

All patients affected by cancellations will be contacted by the trust. If you aren’t contacted, your operation or appointment will go ahead as planned.

If you are unsure or have any concerns, please phone the number on your hospital letter and the relevant department will be able to advise you.

As always, please use our services wisely. Where appropriate, please consider alternatives to our emergency departments such as visiting a local GP or pharmacist.

When you have an urgent health need, please use NHS 111 online, as this can direct you to the best place for care.

We ask you to continue to come forward for care in an emergency, and to keep any appointments you have, unless you hear otherwise. Care will be prioritised for our sickest and most seriously ill patients.

Stay safe and well this winter – from getting your vaccines, to preventing the spread of bugs and other illnesses. Find out more here.
