On Tuesday 23 September our neonatal unit received a very generous gift from the Harrison family.

Dean Harrison completed the Great North Run this month to raise funds for First Touch and to thank St George’s neonatal unit for the care his son Lenny received.

Lenny was born at exactly 24 weeks gestation weighing just 1 pound 13 ounces. He spent 9 weeks in our neonatal unit receving the expert care he needed.

Seeing a happy and healthy Lenny was very emotional for our neonatal staff and members of the First Touch charity. We are very grateful to Dean for his fundraising efforts.

More information about Lenny’s story can be found here on the First Touch website.
