For our patients. For our NHS. For our future.

St George’s Hospital Charity (SGHC) is the official charity of St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, supporting St George’s Hospital, Queen Mary’s Hospital, and the wider community.
We are so proud of our official charity SGHC. Your generosity can support them to fund vital improvements to facilities, pioneering research, and innovative projects that enhance the experience of patients, families, and staff.
Did you know?
Each year SGHC support over 180 projects across the NHS Trust that are underpinned by their commitment to:
- Drive solutions on the ground: support projects that create tangible impact for staff patients and families
- Advance research & innovation: advance research and innovation for tomorrows cures and treatments.
- Bridge the gap: reduce health inequity by supporting initiatives addressing the diverse needs of our communities
- Improve the hospital experience: through enhancing the built environment and arts, creative engagement and showcasing our Art & Heritage collection.
Just some of the projects St George’s Hospital Charity have funded recently have:
- Improved the hospital environment: Transforming a previously unused space into an accessible rooftop garden, directly connected to the Neuro Intensive Care Unit (NICU) supporting over 850 patients and their families each year.
- Enhanced rehabilitation facilities: Purchasing an anti-gravity treadmill which reduces gravity experienced in the lower body, giving patients with limited mobility or difficulty bearing weight the chance to walk or run safely. This means they can begin rehabilitation earlier and improve recovery time.
- Created spaces for staff to recharge: 369 staff members rely on the staffroom in St George’s busy Emergency Department, a space that was long overdue for refurbishment. Damaged furniture was replaced with new tables and chairs, transforming the room into a space where staff can properly rest, recharge and step away from the pressures of their role.
How your gift will help
St George’s Hospital Charity relies entirely on voluntary donations.
Whether it’s new medical equipment, therapy services, art activities for patients, training for our medical staff, or enhancements to our gardens and buildings, it all adds up – every single donation makes a difference.
With your support, we will be able to continue funding projects and equipment which touch the lives of the thousands of people cared for by our hospitals every day.
- £10 could buy new toys for the children’s playrooms to provide important fun and respite from the hospital wards
- £36 can fund a rehabilitation massage for a cancer patient
- £80 could cover the cost of 10 meals for hardworking NHS staff working on Christmas Day or Boxing Day
