Fabrizio D’Abate, a Clinical Vascular Scientist at St George’s Hospital, Tooting, London received the 2015 Ann Donald award for Scientist of the Year on 14 November 2015 from the Society of Vascular Technology of Great Britain and Ireland (SVT).
Vascular neurosurgery involves the treatment of abnormalities of blood vessels of the brain and spinal cord. Some examples are brain aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations and spinal arteriovenous fistulas. These patients are managed by neurosurgeons and interventional neuroradiologists.
