Message timed at 2.45pm, Tuesday 18 July

Due to a significant water leak in the St James Wing X-ray department at St George’s Hospital (Tooting), the unit will remain closed to routine walk-in, GP or Outpatient X-ray patients for the rest of today (18 July) and tomorrow morning.

All outpatient x-ray appointments scheduled for tomorrow morning (Wednesday) at St George’s have been cancelled, and patients contacted.

Our Estates Team is working hard to resolve the problem in order to re-open the unit as soon as possible. We would like to apologise again for any inconvenience this may cause.

However, in the meantime, we will be offering as many patients as we can the alternative option of having x-rays at the Nelson Health Centre, St John’s Therapy Centre or Queen Mary’s Hospital (Roehampton). Please note: that the Nelson Health Centre can only scan patients over the age of 16.

We will provide a further update on our website, and via Twitter, at 10am tomorrow (Wednesday, 19 July).
