St George’s Renal Unit receives Outstanding Service award
The Trust’s Renal Unit was among charity workers and community heroes honoured at an awards night held by the Balham and Tooting Community Association.
The annual celebration was held on 24 November where presentations were made to individuals, teams and public sector representatives. Tooting MP Rosena Allin-Khan and the Mayor of Wandsworth also attended.
The Renal Unit won the Outstanding Service award. Marlene Johnson, Matron for Renal Services at the Trust, said: “We’re really privileged to have been given this award which recognises the care we give to our patients in Balham, Tooting and beyond. I’m so proud of the team.”
It’s 10 years since BATCA was founded in 2006 as a community response to the events in London of July 2005. BATCA is a network of individuals and organisations who are committed to creating a harmonious, thriving community based on trust and friendship between people of all faiths, cultures, ages and backgrounds. It has a wide range of partner bodies and seeks to enable them to work together. It holds events and meetings open to all several times a year in Tooting.
