St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, London, has appointed Sally Storey as its interim Director of Human Resources (HR) and Organisational Development, to cover in the absence of Helen Gordon who recently took adoption leave.

Sally has held Board level HR posts for over 12 years, managing large scale complex change and turnaround programmes, and has won national awards for innovation, modernisation and HR excellence for her work in leadership development. She has experience of working at several large NHS trusts including Bournewood Community and Mental Health Services NHS Trust, Queen Elizabeth Hospital NHS Trust, Mayday Healthcare NHS Trust and East Surrey Hospitals NHS Trust. Sally has also worked in the private sector with an independent HR and organisational development consultancy.

Chief Executive David Astley said: “Sally has demonstrated a wide range of skills, gained from a variety of roles and organisations both inside and outside the NHS. She brings a wealth of experience in leadership and organisational development and strategic HR management to St George’s.”

I am passionate about the quality of clinical services, and believe that a high performing HR team directly contributes to improved patient care. My work in other Trusts on improving the patient experience has given me insight into the complex inter-relationship between staff and patient satisfaction.”
