New episode of 24 Hours in A&E: Heart of the Home…
The RTS award-winning documentary series returns for a fifteenth series following patients treated in the same 24 hour period at St George’s in south west London.
The hospital has one of the busiest A&E departments in Britain – under more pressure than ever. It’s a place where stories of life, love and loss unfold every day.
Lillian, a 75-year-old mother of six, is brought to St George’s with extremely low blood pressure. Doctors treat her for sepsis and also learn she is in the latter stages of pancreatic cancer. She is joined by husband of 58 years, Peter, and granddaughter Kelly.
Dennis, 78, has come to our emergency department after tripping over a curb and experiencing difficulty in breathing.
Carolyn, 32, arrives with a head injury following a night out with friends.
Tune in tonight (Wednesday 1 August) at 9pm on Channel 4.
