The RTS award-winning – and 2019 BAFTA nominated – documentary series is back with its 18th series on Channel 4.

The hospital has one of the busiest A&E departments in Britain – under more pressure than ever. It’s a place where stories of life, love and loss unfold every day.

During this episode – Fix you – we see the stories of three patients during one 24 hour period.

47 year old Greg is knocked off his motorbike on the way into work. His wife Lucie rushes to the scene of the accident and is shocked by what she finds. Greg is airlifted to St George’s with critical injuries to his arm and leg. As Lucie rushes to his bedside, we hear how Greg has struggled to balance family life and work.

11 year old Cara comes into St George’s having fallen from the top of a human pyramid doing gymnastics. She has a badly broken arm that doctors must work to realign. Cara’s mum is at her bedside throughout, as she looks on at her vulnerable daughter she talks about her inhibiting shyness as a young woman and how she set out to make sure her own children didn’t suffer the same fate.

In urgent care, Steve has come to St George’s having gone over on his ankle playing football.  As he’s sent for X rays, he speaks bravely about his historic struggle with depression.
