The RTS award-winning documentary series returns for a sixteenth series following patients treated in the same 24 hour period at St George’s in south west London.

The hospital has one of the busiest A&E departments in Britain – under more pressure than ever.  It’s a place where stories of life, love and loss unfold every day.

This episode – A Job For Life – features the stories of three people filmed over 24 hours at St George’s.

Hitin, 34, is rushed to A&E after he was assaulted in the street at the end of a night out with friends. He is unresponsive on arrival and doctors are worried the injury has caused a bleed on his brain. They also need to take account of his dangerous pre-existing medical condition.

Eight year old Kitty has had two epileptic seizures and has a worryingly high temperature which may trigger a third. She too lives with a pre-existing medical condition.

Finally, 11 year old Sophie comes to A&E after trapping her finger in a door.

Tune in tonight (Monday 12 November) at 9pm on Channel 4.
