ST GEORGE’S HOSPITAL CHARITY is the fortunate beneficiary of this year’s hugely successful Student Charity Fashion Show!

Students from St George’s University of London chose the Child Development Centre (CDC) at St George’s as their special charity of the year to benefit from all proceeds raised from the Fashion Shows. The Shows took place on Thursday 7 February and Friday 8 February in the recently refurbished Medical School bar.

The Child Development Centre at St George’s is a highly specialised centre providing multi-professional care to children with a range of mental and physical disabilities. Thanks to a concerted effort by the St George’s Hospital Fundraising Team, £550,000 has been secured from private donations to completely upgrade and transform this space into a modern, nurturing and accessible environment. The money raised from the Fashion Shows – in the region of £10,000 – will go towards specialist equipment in the newly refurbished Centre.

Medical students, Donna Lunn and Seiwaa Opare, who directed the Shows, spent the past six months planning the Fashion Shows, including scouring the local business community for clothes to showcase, sponsorship and advertising. “We are absolutely delighted with this success. All our hard work has paid off – we are thrilled with the amount we have raised and thank everyone who made the Shows so successful!”
