We are delighted to announce that Dr Jane Evans, Consultant in General Medicine, has been appointed as the new Divisional Chair of our Medicine and Cardiovascular Sciences division.
Jane will take over the role next month from Dr Lisa Pickering, who is moving to a new position at the Royal Marsden.
Jane has worked at St George’s for nine years, before which she was an SpR on the SWL rotation. She has also worked at The Royal Brompton and St Helier Hospitals. Her clinical interests are severe asthma and acute medicine, specifically development of same day emergency services.
She said: “This is a really exciting opportunity for me, and I am grateful to everyone for their supportive messages in recent days. Lisa has done a great job, and I look forward to taking on the role and continuing the work she has done.”
Jane’s start date will be publicised in next week’s eG, together with a more detailed Q&A about her new role, and experiences at St George’s.
Ellis Pullinger, Chief Operating Officer, added: “I would like to congratulate Jane on this well-deserved appointment, which is crucial to the delivery of high quality services for so many of our patients. Jane was the stand-out candidate for the role, and I would like to thank Lisa again for her efforts in recent years.”
