St George’s Healthcare NHS Trust has joined with Tooting Safer Neighbourhood team (Metropolitan Police), Wandsworth Adult Social Services, Wandsworth Carers Centre and South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust and other voluntary sector agencies to pilot a community services advice day in Tooting.

This free drop in event will be held on Thursday 26th May 2011 and will run from 14:00 to 20:00hrs in the Board Rooms, on the 2nd floor of Hunter Wing at St George’s University of London.

Visitors to the day will find a host of information on a range of local health, social care and community safety issues under one roof, from leading a healthy lifestyle to neighbourhood safety. Representatives will also be present from a variety of voluntary groups to offer guidance on disability matters and support for carers. Rooms will also be available for confidential discussions relating to topics such as benefits advice as well as health matters.

Wilfred Carneiro, foundation trust membership manager at St George’s Healthcare NHS Trust, said: “This day has been designed with the local community in mind. All of us involved in this advice day welcome the opportunity to inform our community about the services we provide and make it easier for them to know what support is available locally. Through working in partnership, we will offer advice and signposting to those attending the event day in a single setting.”
