Moving from iLearn to ESR

We have now moved learning management activity from iLearn into ESR.

 Why we made this change?

We moved learning management activity into ESR so that learning, compliance and competency information is managed through one main workforce system.

ESR is already used across the NHS for key employment information, and using it for learning management will help bring learning records, compliance information and reporting into a more consistent place.

What does this mean for staff?

The move from iLearn to ESR does not mean that staff are starting again with their learning or mast compliance records. As part of the transition, relevant learning records will be retained, transferred or made available as appropriate, so that staff and managers continue to have the information needed to support compliance, development and assurance.

Timeline

Since 22 July, when iLearn went offline, relevant learning records and learning allocations were being populated into ESR. During the transition, some information may not appear in ESR immediately. This is expected, and staff do not need to take action while records and allocations are being updated.

Checking your compliance status

Your compliance status’ have been retained is being held on ARIS. You should check your status via link below (only accessible on the trust network): Check your compliance on ARIS

ARIS remains the Trust’s official record for training compliance,. Please use ARIS if you want to check:

  • your current compliance status
  • whether you have any training due.

Accessing ESR

Staff can log into ESR at: https://my.esr.nhs.uk

To log into ESR, you will need your ESR username and password. These were issued to you when you started at the trust, but if you don’t know them, you can use the features on the ESR log in page to recover your credentials. There is a video on Accessing ESR and Recovering Your Password to do that, or you click on Accessing ESR to see a PDF.
