St Georges Hospital Multiple Sclerosis clinical nurse specialists (CNS) are experienced nurses who specialise in the care of people with MS who live in Wandsworth, Merton and Sutton. The MS Nursing Service at St Georges Hospital provides:

  • Support and information for patients who have been diagnosed with MS
  • Information about MS and the treatments used
  • Specialist nursing assessment and advice on the management of MS
  • Bladder and Bowel assessments
  • On-going support for patients with MS and their carers
  • Monitoring for patients on Disease Modifying Therapy: St Georges Hospital has a Disease Modifying Therapy (DMT) Clinic that takes place twice a month. DMT are treatments for people with relapsing remitting MS that can reduce the number and severity of relapses. The patient can be referred to the specialist clinic by their neurologist.
  • Links to other services that can support the patient
  • Education to other health and social care staff
