F.A.Q

Why is the antibiotic guidelines app not available on the Apple app store?

The Apple app store is designed to distribute apps for use by the general public. The antibiotic guidelines app is for use only at St George’s Hospital only so cannot be distributed via this method. iOS users will have a different method of updating than users on Android and Blackberry due to the distribution method used. This means that the app will inform them of an update being available as apposed to their app stores.

Why isn’t the app showing / loading on my Blackberry?

The Blackberry market is very diverse and certain devices cannot support the technology used to create the app. Although all efforts have been made to ensure only devices capable of running the app can download it, there may have been some devices that were missed. Please contact appstoredev@stgeorges.nhs.uk and state your Blackberry model (with number) so this can be added to the list.

Why does the app take so long to download?

The app is 10MB which while this doesn’t seem too big for a desktop computer is quite big for a mobile device on a 3G / EDGE connection. It is recommended that you connect to a WiFi network before downloading the app. The app is available to download from anywhere so if you have problems at St George’s Hospital it may be easier to download where WiFi or a strong 3G connection is available.

The app keeps crashing / I have a correction to make, how do I let you know?

You can contact appstoredev@stgeorges.nhs.uk to feedback on the app and your experience using it. If possible please include details of your device and any steps that would allow us to replicate the issue you had. For corrections please state what section of the app the correction should be made and what needs to be corrected.

I have an idea for an app that could help staff, how would I get this made?

If you have an idea for an app please get in touch. Email appstoredev@stgeorges.nhs.uk giving an outline of what the app would do, who it would be aimed at and how it will help staff. The trust has an in-house app developer so please contact us before approaching external companies
