The tinnitus and hyperacusis service is for adults who have difficulty coping with tinnitus (noises in the ears and/or head) and/or hyperacusis (oversensitivity to sound).

At your first appointment, you will see an audiovestibular physician or ENT surgeon, who will take your history and work towards identifying a cause for the tinnitus and/or hyperacusis. You will most likely have a hearing test, which will be undertaken by an audiologist. Once the consultant has all the test results available, you will have a discussion about management options and you might be referred for hearing aids, or to hearing therapy (adults) for additional support.
