Professional profile

Ms Bridgens completed her Higher Surgical Specialty Training in Trauma & Orthopaedics on the Percival Pott Rotation based at the Royal London Hospital in 2018. She then went on to complete her Paediatric Orthopaedic Fellowships at Great Ormond Street Hospital and the Evelina Hospital for Children and has been working as a Consultant at St George’s Hospital since 2020. She is the clinical lead for the Spina Bifida regional orthopaedic service and the Paediatric Orthopaedic safeguarding service.

Ms Bridgens is an Educational Supervisor for Orthopaedic Trainees and the Paediatric orthopaedic representative to the South Thames Paediatric Network.

She is a member of the British Society for Children’s Orthopaedic Surgery (BSCOS), the British Society for Surgery in Cerebral Palsy (BSSCP) and the European Paediatric Orthopaedic Society (EPOS).

She is a current member of the BSCOS consensus committee for Flatfoot management.

Research interests

Spinal Dysraphism, Paediatric trauma, Clubfoot, DDH, Neuromuscular disorders.

Ms Bridgens’ research focus has been developing a core outcome set (COS) for research and treatment in spinal dysraphism, various aspects of clubfoot management, and developing a British consensus statement for primary treatment of Flatfoot.

She is involved in establishing treatment standards for the pulseless paediatric elbow supracondylar fractures and for paediatric tourniquet use.
