News and updates for primary care colleagues

Greetings to all,

Welcome to the February 2018 issue of Intouch, our e-newsletter designed to keep colleagues in primary care informed about key news from St George’s.

Another key way of updating you and discussing clinical developments and news is our programme of evening education sessions (see below in this e-newsletter).

We also recently also ran an in-depth half-day education event on Paediatrics services, attended by more than 70 GPs of which copies of the presentations are available to download from https://www.stgeorges.nhs.uk/gps-and-clinicians/gp-seminars/.  Please let me know if any specialties are of particular interest to you.

As always we welcome your feedback, and any topics you would like us to feature.  Please email In.Touch@stgeorges.nhs.uk

With best wishes,

Dyhian Mckenzie-Manning

Welcome from the Medical Director

Andy Rhodes, Medical Director

Andy Rhodes, Medical Director

Our first Primary Care newsletter of 2018 follows a period of intense, sustained demand for us and health services in South West London and further afield.

We don’t often have chance to pause and reflect. However, reading some of the developments and news below highlight how we manage to work effectively with GPs and commissioners effectively on new and services for patients – alongside our ongoing workloads.

I hope you have a few minutes to read about some of the clinically-led developments, and also the process efficiencies we are striving for. They aim to improve patient experience and care - and make things easier for GPs.

Please do continue to give us your feedback and take part in the many workstreams we have underway to help St George’s continue its recovery and improve system-wide services.

We recently announced our organisational ambition to provide Outstanding Care, Every Time for our patients – and your experience of St George’s is a big part of this, so please do continue to share your feedback.

Wish best wishes

Andy Rhodes

Medical Director

100% referrals by e-RS – St George’s and local GPs’ progress

GPs are increasingly making online referrals into St George’s for Outpatients First Appointments as we work together to aim for 100% via the e-RS (e-Referral – formerly known as Choose and Book) system.

It’s a national NHS requirement to move to 100% of GP referrals by e-RS - to improve patient experience and safety and make the referral process easier and more efficient for GPs.

Each lecture carries 2 CPD points and a certificate of attendance will be given.  I hope these talks will continue to be both interesting and valuable for you.
