Surgery and Major Trauma nursing jobs at St George’s

565Welcome from Victoria Morrison,  Head of Nursing, Surgery and Major Trauma

Since joining St George’s over ten years ago, I’ve worked across Cardiac Surgery, Haematology and Oncology, and now Surgery, and I’ve enjoyed every minute of working in one of the largest teaching hospitals in the country. The home of ’24 Hours in A&E’, we provide acute and specialist services across south west London and beyond.

We are a caring, friendly, compassionate team in Surgery and Major Trauma, and we’re looking for new and experienced nurses to join us.

Within our unit, there is a choice of 9 areas which include a brand new Emergency Surgical Assessment Unit, Plastics, Gynaecology, General Surgery, Urology, gastro-intestinal and ENT wards, as well as a Surgical Admissions Lounge for our elective patients. As one of London’s largest Major Trauma Unit, we also have 2 fast paced and acute Trauma and Orthopaedic wards.

There are also lots of opportunities for career development here at St George’s, including:

  • An excellent team of Practice Educators and Ward Managers who are committed to your development and will support and guide you
  • All our new staff have the opportunity to join our preceptorship programme
  • We also offer a bespoke surgical rotation programme to spend time working within different specialities and understand the patient pathways that you are interested in.
