Self-Care Study Day (Ergonomics)

Learn how to use your body’s natural design to release aches and pains from practicing medical imaging and gain mental clarity to provide better care.
Practicing mammographers and sonographers can boost their skills with this innovative new course from the School of Radiography and St George’s National Breast Education Centre.

Peer Review Assessor Training for Breast Screening staff undertaking QA visits

This well-established day is aimed at Breast Screening staff of any discipline who have recently become members of the QA team or are planning to join their QA team and undertake Quality Assurance visits. The faculty are all experienced Quality Assurance Peer Review Assessors. The day will cover the organisation of Breast Screening Quality Assurance as well as giving an insight into the principles of peer reviewing. There will be sessions including practical exercises in preparation; evidence gathering and evaluation; interview techniques; constructive feedback and report structuring and writing. This day will be of considerable value before undertaking QA visits.

Communications & Duty of Candour Study Day

Masterclass for staff preparing for Duty of Candour Interviews

This Master Class is of value to clinical staff in Breast Imaging & Breast Screening. The format consists of small group work and practical clinical demonstrations with an experienced faculty.

There is the opportunity for delegates, if they wish, to participate in simulated clinical scenarios.

The day covers the principles of effective communication, how best to share difficult information in the context of Duty of Candour and deal with the range of responses (including anger).

The workshop aims to improve skill and confidence in difficult situations.

Breast Biopsy Simulation Course – Monday 14th May 2018

Advanced & Consultant Breast Practitioners Accreditation Study Day

This course is designed to increase uptake of accreditation for advanced and consultant practitioner radiographers working in Breast Imaging and Diagnosis.

Objectives – by the end of the event, delegates would be able to:
•Understand and differentiate between the titles Advanced and Consultant Practitioner.
