The Community Specialist Therapies team works with children in the community in the Borough of Wandsworth. This is a newly amalgamated team, which was previously known as Community Therapies and Complex Needs Therapy teams.

The service offers access to Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy and Physiotherapy. We offer services in clinics, Integrated Children’s Centre’s, mainstream schools and nurseries.

The service aims to provide a multi-disciplinary approach for children, and is well integrated with the Local Authority.


What we offer:

  • Access to assessment within 18 weeks
  • Prompt, appropriate, accessible treatment and advice to enable children to achieve their full potential
  • Early Intervention
  • Speech and Language Therapy Prevention and Promotion Service in Integrated Children’s Centres
  • Multidisciplinary diagnostic assessments for children who may be on the Autistic Spectrum
  • Splinting and casting services, with onward referral to Orthotics if required
  • Musculoskeletal Service
  • Assessment and provision of specialist equipment, major and minor adaptations
  • Feeding Service for children at risk of aspiration
  • Training for parents, carers and education staff
