Dr Rahman specialises in acute and chronic liver disease, endoscopy, colonoscopy and gastroenterology.
Dr Rahman graduated in Medicine and Physiological Sciences from Christ Church College, Oxford in 1992.
He was awarded membership of the Royal College of Physicians in 1995, Doctor of Philosophy in Medicine in 2003 from Imperial College, London and was appointed a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in 2008.
He has also undertaken further specialist training at King's College, the Royal Free and St Thomas' Hospital, London.
Dr Rahman is accredited as an consultant specialist in adult gastroenterology and hepatology, internal and critical care medicine by the Royal College of Physicians and Royal College of Anaesthetists (UK).
He is now a consultant physician in gastroenterology, hepatology and critical care medicine at St George's Hospital and Queen Mary's Hospital, Roehampton.
Dr Rahman is actively involved in research, having published widely and invited to speak at national and international academic meetings, and has also been successful in being awarded grants towards supervised PhD and MD projects within the department.
He is able to offer expertise in the surveillance and management of gastrointestinal and liver cancer, acute and chronic liver diseases and functional bowel disorders such as irritable bowel syndrome and reflux.
