Clinical interests

Professor Brecker is an interventional cardiologist with special interest in transcatheter valve technology.  He is clinical lead for the transcatheter aortic valve implantation programme and runs the structural heart disease clinic at St George's Hospital. Professor Brecker's research programme is in the field of transcatheter aortic valve implantation.  He has developed and commercialised a novel intracardiac guidewire, now used worldwide on daily basis.  His current research is directed towards improving the outcomes of transcatheter aortic valve implantation.

Professional profile

Professor Brecker is the Chief of Cardiology Clinical Academic Group. He is a Consultant Cadiologist at St. George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Professor of Cardiology at St George's University of London.
