Dr Samir Deiratany
Consultant in Paediatric Emergency Medicine
Dr Deiratany joined SGH in 2016 as a consultant in Paediatric Emergency Medicine.
His interests include Paediatric Allergy & Ambulatory Emergency Care.
Dr Deiratany has an international repertoire having worked in 8 countries (Syria, Lebanon, France, Canada, US, UAE, UK & Ireland). After graduating from Damascus University, he worked in in Paris. He subsequently moved to Ireland to complete his post graduate training in both General Paediatrics & Paediatric Emergency Medicine. He was granted his Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians (Paediatrics). He is an examiner for the the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.
During his time in Canada, he obtained a clinical fellowship from the University of Toronto (Paediatric Emergency Medicine) for his work at The Hospital for Sick Kids in 2006.
On return to the UK, he led the Paediatric Emergency Department at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust & is currently based at St Georges Hospital , one of four Major Trauma Centres in London.
