Dr Mark Hamilton
Clinical interests
Dr Mark Hamilton is a Consultant and Honorary Senior Lecturer in Anaesthesia & Critical Care Medicine at St. George’s Hospital and Medical School. He was the Clinical Director for Adult Critical care (2014-16) and the Clinical Lead for the Perioperative Assessment & Planning Unit. He has a long history of outcome related research and has been a member of the Surgical Outcomes Resource Centre at UCL for the past 7 years. He was awarded an MD(Res)by UCL in 2012 for the development of novel methods to predict surgical outcome.
Mark is an Associate Medical Director for clinical transformation and quality improvement.
Professional profile
He is the joint London south CLRN speciality lead for Anaesthesia, Perioperative Medicine and Pain. He is the co-director of Evidence Based Perioperative Medicine, an organisation dedicated to improving the care of surgical patients through the application of research. He is the joint Editor in Chief of Perioperative Medicine and sits on the editorial board of the improving surgical outcomes group, that has been recognised by parliament for it’s contribution to improving care of the surgical patient.
