Dr Ewa Raglan is a consultant audiovestibular physician specialising in diagnosis and management of patients (adult and children) with dizziness / balance disorders, as well as with tinnitus and hearing impairment as the result of excessive noise exposure, birth / head trauma and other causes.
Dr Raglan qualified with distinction in medicine in 1973 from the University of Warsaw, Poland. She received a Diploma in otolaryngology in 1975, FRCS in otolarngology in London in 1981 and FRCP in 2005.
She has been an organiser of biannual scientific meetings Hallpike symposia for a number of years, honorary secretary of the British Association of Audiovestibular Physicians, treasurer of the British Society of Audiology, deputy director and tutor examiner to MSc in audiovestibular medicine / science at UCL.
She continues in her role as the clinical champion / adviser in audiology to chief scientific officer at the Department of Health and the general secretary of the International Association of Audiovestibular Physicians. She is also an expert witness.
On invitation Dr Raglan has organised the speciality workshops in various countries such as Nigeria, India, China, Thailand, Poland and is an author of DH sponsored distance e-learning courses for GPs and paediatric neurologists.
Dr Raglan is the founder of the department of audiovestibular medicine at St George's Hospital, chair of the governing body of the hearing impaired service for children in Wandsworth, governor of the school for the deaf in Wandsworth and has given foundation to the platform uniting health and educational services in diagnostic and rehabilitative management of hard of hearing children in Wandsworth.
She divides her time between duties at St George's Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital where she set up the unique service for children with dizziness / balance disorders.
