Trust staff to celebrate Black History Month
October is Black History Month, and staff across the Trust will be celebrating the occasion with a range of activities.
Our theme this year is to recognise and raise awareness of Black history and culture. This is inspired by a quote from Nelson Mandela: “Education is the most powerful weapon we can use to change the world”.
Although staff aren’t able to celebrate in the usual way due to social distancing guidelines, there are a number of ways in which staff can get involved.
Every Friday in October, we are encouraging Black, Asian, and Ethnic Minority (BAME) staff to wear their traditional dress or country’s colours to work. Each week, someone will be judged the best dressed person in their division!
Furthermore, we will be asking our staff to tell us what Black History Month means to them.
