Kent ward goes platinum!
Well done to the team on Kent ward, who have secured their third consecutive gold rating in our ward accreditation scheme.
Kent ward at St George’s – which cares for patients with neurological conditions from across the region – was inspected earlier this month, and staff were informed of their platinum rating last week.
Kent is the first ward to score three consecutive gold ratings – an achievement which means they are now rated as platinum!
As part of the ward accreditation scheme, areas are assessed against 13 key standards – including everything from infection control and cleanliness through to documentation and patient experience.
The team on Kent were rated gold in 11 areas and silver in the remaining two. The team scored particularly highly for the quality of their documentation, leadership and patient experience. The assessors were particularly impressed with the welcome they received, with support staff, including cleaning and housekeeping, and the ward hostess, deserving of particular praise.

“It is great to be able to get three consecutive golds, and the first platinum in the Trust. It’s amazing how our staff worked towards this achievement. I’m really proud of this achievement for all of us; it just provides a testament that we are all providing outstanding care, every time for our patients.”

The team on Kent have worked incredibly hard to deliver the best possible care for patients, and to make the ward a place where staff enjoy their work, and are able to thrive. To secure gold for a third consecutive time is a really big achievement, and incredibly well-deserved.”
