Suspected Cancer Diagnosis (Outpatient Referral)

Suspected Cancer Clinic Referrals – Fast Track referrals from Emergency Department or Acute Medical Unit:

• If you see any patient with suspected cancer who is fit enough to go home from ED/AMU they can be referred directly to the relevant clinic using a single online form, “Suspected Cancer One Week Referral form” via iClip.
• The referral will be dealt with by the Cancer Referrals Office (NOT AOS). The clinic appointment will be within one week (instead of 2WW referral from GP).Please note that this is equivalent to GP 2 week referral (TWR) but it’s quicker as it’s an appointment within 1 week if seen in A&E or medics and fit for discharge.
• They do not need a separate referral from their GP.  Please note the patients will be seen by the specific team (i.e. UGI, lung, etc.).
