Performance Status or Fatigue

Questions

  • Has there been a recent change in performance status/activities of daily living?
  • How many days has this occurred for?
  • Any other associated symptoms? If yes, see specific symptom.
Patients who are receiving or have received immunotherapy in the previous 12 months are at risk of treatment related endocrinopathies, any new or increasing fatigue should be investigated. Please contact the advice line.

Grade 1 (Green)

  • Symptomatic but completely ambulant.
  • Increased fatigue but not affecting normal activities.

Advice

  • Ask the patient to discuss this with their key worker or at their next appointment.
  • Their is useful information on the patient fatigue self care advice page.

Grade 2 (Amber)

  • Symptomatic, but ambulatory and capable of all self care, but unable to carry out any work activities.
  • OR Affecting up and about more than 50% of waking hours.
  • OR Moderate or severe fatigue causing difficulty or loss of ability to perform some activities.

Grade 3 (Red)

  • Symptomatic, capable of only limited self care, confined to bed for more than 50% of waking hours or completely bed or chair bound.
  • Disabling fatigue or bedridden.
