The St George’s neuroradiology service performs advanced imaging techniques for the diagnosis and treatment of neurological conditions, including stroke and cerebral aneurysms.

Procedures performed include:

  • CT and MRI scanning
  • Diagnostic and interventional neuro-angiography
  • Neurovascular ultrasound
  • X-ray and theatre work

The neuroradiology service supports the St George’s Hospital stroke unit by providing acute advanced imaging (CT and MRI scanning) with instant reporting, allowing the rapid thrombolysis which is vital to improving the outcomes for stroke patients.

The majority of services are provided in Atkinson Morley Wing at St George’s Hospital, which houses the modern state-of-the-art scanning equipment and theatres.  Some diagnostic services also available at Queen Mary’s Hospital.  All services are provided by specialist multidisciplinary teams.
