Clinical interests
Miss Heap is a renal transplant consultant specialising in laparoscopic donor nephrectomy and live donor renal transplantation.
She also has an interest in surgery related to renal failure, for example primary AV fistula formation, peritoneal dialysis insertion and surgery for parathyroid disorders.
Professional profile
Miss Heap qualified from the University of Manchester in 2001, and trained in general surgery in Manchester. She began her specialist general surgery training in 2005, based in the north west of England before returning to Manchester to work as a transplant registrar at the transplant unit, Manchester Royal Infirmary.
She completed her training with a live donor fellowship in 2010 based in Birmingham and Nottingham, and joined St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in 2011.
