Clinical interests

Dr Hadjikoumi is a consultant paediatrician who specialises in complex paediatric neurodisability and paediatric epilepsy.

She also has a clinical interest in neurodevelopmental disorders such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), Down Syndrome, respiratory problems related to patients with neurodisability and neurorehabilitation.

Professional profile

Dr Hadjikoumi qualified as a medical doctor from the Medical school of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. She completed her postgraduate specialist  training in Paediatrics and sub specialist training in paediatric neurodisability within the London Deanery, University of London. She also completed a clinical research fellowship at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital and Medical School, London. She was awarded a Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCT) in Paediatrics and a CCT in Paediatric Neurodisability. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child health ( FRCPCH ). Furthermore, she holds Paediatric Board Certification from the Hellenic Specialist Board of Paediatrics.

In 2008 Dr Hadjikoumi was appointed a consultant at St George's Hospital and an Honorary Senior Lecturer at St George's Medical School, University of London..

Dr Hadjikoumi has been active in research and several papers authored by her have been published in peer-reviewed journals including the Archives of Disease in Childhood and Paediatric Pulmonology. Her current research interest is on screening for obstructive sleep apnoea in children with Down syndrome.

Dr Hadjikoumi is actively involved in the undergraduate teaching of medical Students at St George’s Medical School and she is a clinical and educational supervisor to paediatric specialty trainee doctors.
