Dr Dagan Lonsdale

Clinical interests

Dagan Lonsdale is a consultant in intensive care medicine at St George’s University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and senior lecturer in clinical pharmacology in St George’s, University of London. Clinically he works in general intensive care, caring for critically unwell surgical, medical and major trauma patients. His research interests include outcomes in major trauma and the use of pharmacometric models to optimise the use of drugs, including personalisation of therapy. As well as working with drugs in critical illness, Dagan collaborates with colleagues across the world in other disease areas, including COVID-19.

Professional profile

Dagan’s undergraduate training was at University College London, qualifying in 2007. He undertook post-graduate training in general medicine, clinical pharmacology and intensive care at St George’s and Guy’s and St Thomas’ hospitals in London and the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, Australia. During this time, he undertook his PhD into the pharmacokinetics of antimicrobials in critical illness at St George’s, University of London. Dagan was appointed as a consultant in 2019 and splits his time working in ICU in the hospital and lecturing in the University, where he leads pharmacokinetics and pharmacometrics teaching for undergraduates.
