Clinical interests
Dr Monti is a consultant paediatric endocrinologist since 2019. During her medical and specialty training she also completed clinical and molecular investigations in particular phenotypes of congenital hypothyroidism and also in paediatric patients affected by conditions in the spectrum of Beckwith Wiedemann and Isolated Hemi-hypertrophy. Dr Monti developed a specific interest in growth, calcium and skeletal dysplasias disorders and she has an in dept clinical experience in treating patients with Osteogenesis Imperfecta thanks to close contacts between the Paediatric Clinic based at the University of Verona and the AsItOI and th. During the latter part of her postgraduate sub-specialty training she strengthen her expertise in tertiary managed endocrine conditions from late effects of childhood cancer survivors to sex and gender development.
Professional profile
Dr Monti graduated and completed her postgraduate training in Paediatrics. This was followed by a doctoral research under the University of Verona investigating rare un-described forms of Osteogenesis Imperfecta from a radiological, histological and molecular prospective. She worked at a substantive associate specialist paediatrician in Italy and following a visiting clinical research fellow post in the Centre for Endocrinology of the William Harvey Research Institute of London (SIEDP grant), she continued further sub-specialty training at Great Ormond Street Hospital and University College of London Hospital in Paediatric Endocrinology between 2014-2019. Dr Monti has contributed to international publication in the field of growth, puberty, dysmorphology and treatment of bone conditions and has participated to and presented in international meetings.
