St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has appointed Andrew Grimshaw as its new Chief Financial Officer.

Andrew is currently Director of Finance at London Ambulance Service (LAS), a position he has held since January 2013. He has also been Acting Chief Executive at LAS since January this year.

Prior to joining LAS, Andrew worked at a number of teaching, specialist and district general hospitals, having joined the NHS as a trainee accountant in 1989.

Gillian Norton, Chair of St George’s, said:

“Andrew will be a key member of the new executive team Jacqueline Totterdell and I are starting to build here at the Trust. He is highly experienced, with an impressive track record, and brings fresh ideas to the dual challenge we face of improving services for patients, whilst also making the organisation financially sustainable. However, it is challenge we are ready for, and determined to meet.”

Andrew Grimshaw said:

“I am excited to be joining St George’s, and look forward to meeting staff, and being a part of the new executive team at the Trust. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at London Ambulance, and wish the organisation all the best for the future.”

Andrew will take up his new role at St George’s on 19 June. In the meantime, and as announced on 20 April, Ann Johnson, an experienced NHS finance director, joins the Trust as Acting Chief Financial Officer for a fixed period. Jacqueline Totterdell joins St George’s as Chief Executive on 1 May.
