Information for patients

Our non-emergency patient transport services are provided by G4S, an external company.

G4S provide non-emergency patient transport services for patients accessing treatment at St George’s, St John’s Therapy Centre and Trevelyan House.

The GMB Union is planning a two day period of industrial action next week from 00.01 hours on Thursday 19 January through to 23.59 hours on Friday 20 January.

The industrial action is due to an on-going dispute between the GMB Union and G4S over pay conditions for its drivers based at St George’s.

We anticipate a number of drivers taking part in the industrial action this week. Unfortunately, this will mean we are not in a position to complete as many journeys for patients as we would on a typical day.

We would like to reassure patients that we are doing everything we can to minimise the potential disruption this may cause.

We will be contacting patients potentially affected over the coming days – however, if you have patient transport arranged and are not contacted by the hospital, there will be no change to your current arrangements, and should attend as planned.

If you have patient transport arranged but are able to travel to and from your appointment via alternative means, please do contact us on 020 8725 2121. This will enable us to use your patient transport booking for another patient.

If you need to cancel your appointment, please call the telephone number on your appointment letter.

We would like to thank you for your patient and co-operation, and would like to apologise in advance for any  inconvenience caused.
