We provide a full range of health services at Wandsworth Prison, the largest prison in the UK with up to 1,665 male prisoners at any time.
We run healthcare at HMP Wandsworth in partnership with the Prison Service to make sure that prisoners receive the same standard of care they would receive if they were still living in the community.
The nursing team at the prison deal with the full range of male healthcare issues, ranging from major trauma to mental health.
The Wandsworth Community Learning Disability Team is a multi-disciplinary team of professionals from both social services and the NHS. The team provides advice and support to people with learning disabilities and to their carers and families. The team works with adults aged 18 and over.
People with learning disabilities are entitled to access the same health and social services that everybody else does. The team can help with specialist advice and support that people with learning disabilities sometimes need. Wherever possible support from the team is time limited but the team is always available for more support and advice at a later date.
