St George's Hospital Charity has seven Trustees, who are appointed by the Appointments Commission to hold and administer charitable funds on behalf of the NHS. Three Trustees (NHS Link Trustees) are appointed following nominations made by local NHS bodies. The remaining four Trustees are appointed via public advertisement and open competition.

Diane Mark, Chair
Diane Mark was appointed as a Trustee of St George's Hospital Charity in July 2004, and until 31 October 2007 was a non-executive director of St. George's Healthcare NHS Trust. Her professional background is in banking. Diane holds a variety of public and voluntary appointments, including Justice of the Peace on the Wimbledon Bench and as a member of the Greater London Authority standards committee. Diane's appointment runs until 31 May 2012. |

Dr Stephen Hickey
Stephen has retired from the Civil Service, where he was Director General in the Department of Transport. He lives in Wimbledon; both he and his family have been patients at St George's. Stephen is also a Non-Executive Director of Wandsworth Teaching PCT and a member of the Citizens' Advice Bureau Standards and Membership Committee. Stephen joined us as a Trustee in October 2008. |

Hazel Norman
Hazel joined the Board of Trustees of St George's Hospital Charity in April 2010. She has many years experience working in the not-for-profit sector, gaining skills in strategic planning and charity governance. Hazel is currently Executive Director of the British Ecological Society. She has a strong connection with the local area, having lived in in Tooting for 15 years. Her children were born at St George's and her family have been patients at the hospital. |

Judith Porter
Judith was appointed as a trustee in April 2010. She brings Marketing and Communication experience from the commercial, charity and public sector. She is the former Marketing Director of the baby charity, Tommy's and currently works for the Central Office of Information.
Judith lives with her husband in Battersea and is a regular user of St Georges.

Carol Vaarlam
Carol became a Trustee of St George's Hospital Charity in October 2009. Carol was Chairman of Merton, Sutton and Wandsworth Health Authority for two years and Deputy Chairman of Southwest London Strategic Health Authority for four years. Before that she had ten years' experience as Head of Corporate Human Resource Planning at the BBC. She is a lay member of the General Dental Council. She lives in Wandsworth with her husband, and she and her family have been regular users of St George's services for many years. |

Annette Ward
Annette has extensive experience in the voluntary sector, in both paid and unpaid positions, including the Rainer Foundation, Eaves Housing for Women Limited, Common Purpose and Futurebuilders England. She has an MBA from City University Business School, has lived in Balham for the past 13 years and has been a patient at St George's. Annette joined us as a Trustee in October 2008. |

Paul Wilkinson
Paul joined St George's Hospital Charity as Trustee in May 2006. After a serious road traffic accident, in which he severely damaged his leg, Paul has spent five years under the care of St George's Hospital. During this time he underwent a number of operations which essentially saved his leg. Paul wants to use his own experience of the care and treatment he received as both an in-patient and out-patient to benefit the patients, staff and services at St George's. Paul spent many years in the banking sector, followed by several years as a fundraiser for local and national charities. He is currently Chief Executive of the Lifetrain Trust, which empowers young people and disabled people to make positive changes to their lives, and is also a rowing coach at Putney, where he is himself a keen rower. |
