While every effort is made to ensure that this website is as accessible as possible, the trust recognises that a minority of users may encounter problems accessing some of the content. The website has been tested against WCAG 1.0 accessibility guidelines with 95% of the pages validating violation free on Priority 1 and 2.
You can change the appearance of this website to suit your needs. Browser settings differ but most will offer some or all of the following:
Most of the text on this website can be re-sized by using the font size setting in your browser. This can be found under the 'View' menu of most browsers.
Using Google Translate you can translate our website into over 50 languages. When using the translator, the page will load and once it has been translated you will see the text change to the language you have chosen. There may be slight layout issues when the wording in other languages is longer than in english. This will not affect your browsing experience.
Google Translate is a free service, and should help non-English speakers to understand the basic information on the site. However we cannot guarantee that translations are 100% accurate and for this reason we do not recommend that patients rely on translated text to make medical decisions.
You are also usually able to change the default font and background colours used on the site. Generally, settings are found in the 'Options' or 'Preferences' menus of the browser.
Most browsers will allow you to strip a web page of all styling and layout by turning off the website 'style sheets'. This option can be found in the 'View' menu.
Skipping from link to link is possible using the TAB key on your keyboard. The current link will be highlighted in yellow. To move backwards, hold down SHIFT and press the TAB key.
Access Keys are not used on this site because they can interfere with the keyboard controls of many browsers and screen readers.
